If you have an interest in starting seedlings, stop by the library and visit our new seed library. The seeds have been collected from donations by local gardeners, patrons, and nurseries, to provide a nice variety of vegetable seeds and flower seeds to choose from.

Timeless Tales Story Time at Pinehurst
Preschoolers with their families through Seniors: Welcome spring with us at Pinehurst Senior Living Community, on Thursday, May 7th, from 10 – 10:50 AM. Enjoy stories, songs, crafts, and a special treat. This month we will be reading some spring books and planting seeds to take home for your gardens. Please note this event will be held at Pinehurst Senior Living Community, 1000 Pine Trail, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. Kindly register to attend.

HF-L High School Jazz Combo with “Instrument Petting Zoo”
Kids and Adults: Join us at the Mendon Public Library on Saturday, May 9th from 1 – 2 PM, for a performance by the Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Jazz Combo followed by an “Instrument Petting Zoo.” Members of the HFL HS Band will be on hand to perform some songs, show off their instruments, and answer questions. Tuesday Story Time
Join Miss Kelly each Tuesday morning at 10 AM for Story Time. Preschoolers and their caregivers will read a few stories, sing a few songs, and make new friends. Registration not necessary.
Create a World of Kindness with The Breadman
Kids through Adults: Join us Saturday, May 16th, 10 – 10:45 AM, at the library for a special visit with The Breadman. The Breadman will give us a simple bread making lesson, talk about how we can be kind to each other, share stories of kindness, and provide a bread tasting. Each participant will take a loaf of “Kindness” bread home. We might even share some selected “Kindness” picture books for participants to borrow. Sign up today to reserve your seat!

TONIES Collection at Mendon Public Library
Thanks to The Friends of Mendon Public Library, our children and their families can enjoy a new collection of screen-free audio players for kids! The Tonies collection includes 3 loanable Tonie boxes (these are the players) that come with headphones and 1 storytelling character. Each character contains a unique story, that plays when placed on a Tonie box. Our new collection also has 41 individual Tonie characters, each with their own unique and educational story. Tonie character stories range in target age up to about 10 years. The characters can be checked out and used on your own Tonie box, or on a library Tonie box.
LOTE (Languages Other Than English) for Kids
“LOTE for Kids!” (LOTE = Languages Other Than English) is another perk for Monroe County Library card holders: we have access to electronic children’s books in many popular languages. They also offer the LOTE4Kids app for your smartphone.

Teen Corner Open
All teens and tweens are invited to come celebrate the grand opening of our new Teen Corner on Thursday, July 11th at 1:00 PM. We’ll have bubble tea, games, prizes, and more! State Assemblymember Jen Lunsford will help us with a ribbon cutting at 1:30 PM. We’ll also be unveiling our brand new, Manga book section!
