Program registrations open Wednesday, June 11. On Wednesday, June 25 we have our Opening Party and start tracking reading progress and program attendance. There are weekly prizes and incentives for participation. The Summer Reading Program ends on Friday, August 8 and the final prize drawings will be done by Friday, August 15. ***** GOAL: Read 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, throughout the summer *****

MAGConnect Field Trip to Memorial Art Gallery

School Age Kids and their Adults, join us Thursday, July 3rd, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, for a special day of art. Meet at Mendon Public Library by 10:15 AM for a 10:30 AM bus departure to the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG). Once we arrive at MAG, we will divide up into two groups of 20 with one group touring the museum and the other group doing a craft. After 45 minutes, we’ll switch. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy in the sculpture garden if the weather allows. We will return by bus to MPL by 1:30 PM. Registration required. (Please note this is for school age kids and their adult. Students under the age of 18 will not be allowed to attend without an adult.)

Wednesday evening, July 9, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Niki will guide us through a slow flow practice opening our bodies while using the breath. Connect to some moon postures and connect to your own inner light. This event will be held outside at Rotary Park, near the basketball courts. (At the library if the weather is poor.) Open to ages 10 and up. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat, if you have one, and a towel. Registration requested.

Using your Mendon Public Library card, you can now access Kanopy, a free movie streaming service with no ads and no subscriptions. Kanopy offers an expertly curated collection of films we think you will enjoy. We are pleased to bring this streaming service to our community. To use Kanopy, you will need to enter your library card information and create a Kanopy account. Udemy users can explore thousands of continuously updated on-demand video courses that match their professional goals and personal interests. NY Empire Pass and VIP Passes for 2024-2025

Our 2024-2025 New York State Empire Pass and the Very Important Places (VIP) Passes are available to borrow. The Empire Pass provides discounted admission to participating NY State Parks. (Please read the Empire Pass Guidelines for use.) The VIP Passes are for a variety of cultural sites to obtain special offers at these Very Important Places, thanks to partnerships arranged each year by MCLS.

All teens and tweens are invited to come celebrate the grand opening of our new Teen Corner on Thursday, July 11th at 1:00 PM. We’ll have bubble tea, games, prizes, and more! State Assemblymember Jen Lunsford will help us with a ribbon cutting at 1:30 PM. We’ll also be unveiling our brand new, Manga book section!
