Saturday Story Times Twice A Month
Miss Lori loves to share stories, songs, and activities with preschool kids and their families! Join us every other at 10:00 AM in the Mendon Public Library Jacobs Family Reading Room for a half hour of fun. Registration is not required; just stop in! The following Saturday Story Times are currently scheduled: Saturday, November 23;
Saturday, December 7; and Saturday, December 21.
Tuesday Story Time
Join Miss Kelly each Tuesday morning at 10 AM for Story Time. Preschoolers and their caregivers will read a few stories, sing a few songs, and make new friends. Registration not necessary.

Mendon Library Celebrates Nancy Holtby and The Friends of MPL!
The week of October 20 – 26 is “Friends of Libraries Week.” The Mendon Public Library joins with libraries and communities across the country in recognizing the good work of this important volunteer group. In conjunction with “Friends of Libraries Week”, the MPL Friends gathered to place a commemorative brick for Nancy Holtby, their most recent Past-President. The Mendon Public Library is a better place thanks to the support of The Friends of Mendon Public Library.
Magic The Gathering – Teen Game Night
Teens and Adults - Join us at the Mendon Public Library on Monday, December 9th, from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM, to play Magic the Gathering! Just show up to enjoy a fun night. Beginners are welcome and can borrow a deck if needed, or bring your own deck if you would like....
Gratitude Story Time with Dalit of PJ Library
Preschool and Early Elementary kids and their caregivers won’t want to miss this special Gratitude Story Time with PJ Library’s Dalit Spindel on Wednesday, November 27th, from 10:00 – 10:30 AM. We’ll be reading How Dalia Put a Big Yellow Comforter Inside a Tiny Blue Box, written by Linda Heller and illustrated by Stacey McQueen. After reading the book, the kids can decorate their own Tzedakah (charity) piggy bank box and think for who they want to collect money for and where to place them. Registration requested.
NY Empire Pass and VIP Passes for 2024-2025
Our 2024-2025 New York State Empire Pass and the Very Important Places (VIP) Passes are available to borrow. The Empire Pass provides discounted admission to participating NY State Parks. (Please read the Empire Pass Guidelines for use.) The VIP Passes are for a variety of cultural sites to obtain special offers at these Very Important Places, thanks to partnerships arranged each year by MCLS.
Teen Corner Open
All teens and tweens are invited to come celebrate the grand opening of our new Teen Corner on Thursday, July 11th at 1:00 PM. We’ll have bubble tea, games, prizes, and more! State Assemblymember Jen Lunsford will help us with a ribbon cutting at 1:30 PM. We’ll also be unveiling our brand new, Manga book section!
LOTE (Languages Other Than English) for Kids
“LOTE for Kids!” (LOTE = Languages Other Than English) is another perk for Monroe County Library card holders: we have access to electronic children’s books in many popular languages. They also offer the LOTE4Kids app for your smartphone.

Automatic Renewal Starts May 1
On Wednesday, May 1st, Monroe County Library System introduces automatic renewals! Eligible items will renew four days before their due dates. A courtesy email will be sent that lists each renewed item with its new due date.
