NY Empire Pass and VIP Passes for 2024-2025

Our 2024-2025 New York State Empire Pass and the Very Important Places (VIP) Passes are available to borrow. The Empire Pass provides discounted admission to participating NY State Parks. (Please read the Empire Pass Guidelines for use.) The VIP Passes are for a variety of cultural sites to obtain special offers at these Very Important Places, thanks to partnerships arranged each year by MCLS.

Preschool Story Time in Two Languages with Miss Rosa

Preschoolers and their Caregivers are welcome to join Miss Rosa at the Mendon Public Library on Fridays, starting September 13th, from 10 AM to 10:30 AM, to enjoy stories and songs in English and Spanish. Miss Rosa will read from a variety of books and share her love of language, culture, and creativity. These story times are currently scheduled through October 11, but more could be added if availability and interest allows. No registration required.

Local amateur astronomers will be presenting special star gazing events in Honeoye Falls at Monroe Street Village Park this summer. The Friday, September 13th event is hosted by MPL and is open to residents of all ages, especially the young and the curious. Please register, esp. to get updates, as this event is weather dependent. Kindly enter the park with headlights off (parking lights only). Honeoye Falls Monroe Street Park (Fireman’s Field), 331 Monroe St., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. PLEASE check the library website 4 hours before the event to assure that conditions will be favorable for viewing. Automatic Renewal Starts May 1

On Wednesday, May 1st, Monroe County Library System introduces automatic renewals! Eligible items will renew four days before their due dates. A courtesy email will be sent that lists each renewed item with its new due date.
