Teens and Adults: The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is scheduled to open in Medora, North Dakota, on July 4, 2026. This online program, on Wednesday, September 17, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, covers the things you should do in the fall whether you have an annual or perennial garden to help ensure a successful garden the next year. “Wired For Opportunity” Free Technology Training
The Wired for Opportunity program is technology training classes provided at no cost to students. The classes will range from basic computer and phone skills to courses like social media and web development and will award the students with a free device, either a Chromebook or Google Pixel Tablet, depending on the class curriculum’s device focus. Each student will be provided a device to use on site for the course’s four class duration. These courses will run from mid-2025 through 2026 and be available at a variety of locations across the county. *** Please note that devices will be awarded one per person per household, while supplies last ***
Lori Mugnolo Artwork, Created at The Mill Art Center & Gallery
The artwork currently on display at the MPL features over 25 beautiful creations by MPL staff person Lori Mugnolo. A retired elementary school teacher, Lori is currently a student and member of the Mill Art Center & Gallery. All the work in this exhibit was produced during or following classes that Lori participated in at the Mill Art Center & Gallery. Lori said, “There are a variety of techniques and mediums used to create this work. I was NEW to art classes after retirement and found a welcoming and supportive . . .” ALSO: The Mill Art Center & Gallery is partnering with the library for an End of Summer Paint-Out on the Library Lawn, Saturday, September 13, 10 AM – 1 PM (Rain Date September 20).
VolunTeens!
6th – 12th Graders: Join Emily at the library on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, from 2:30 PM to 4 PM (note time change from summer), for a variety of activities to give back to the library and community! We will have a different project each week, posted in advance in the Teen Corner. Feel free to come with your own ideas as well. We can’t wait to collaborate with you! LEGO Club – Monthly Challenge
Join Miss Lisa and other LEGO builders with a new activity the 2nd Wednesday of the month, through December. Each child will receive a box of LEGOs and a prompt. Using their imagination, they can build what is suggested or build their own creation. Children ages 7-12. Registration is required for 16 available seats on September 10, October 8, November 12, and/or December 10.

4 New Book Discussion Kits
The Mendon Public Library has 4 new book discussion kits! Each kit contains 7 copies of the book, assembled in a tote bag with 7 discussion guides for that title. The selected books are: Black Cake, by Charmaine Wilkerson; The Dictionary of Lost Words, by Pip Williams; Happiness Falls, by Angie Kim; and North Woods, by Daniel Mason. This addition to our collection is from the United for Libraries and Penguin Random House Grants to U.S. Rural and Small Libraries. The tote bags were donated by The Friends of Mendon Public Library.

Kanopy offers an expertly curated collection of films we think you will enjoy. We are pleased to bring this streaming service to our community. NY Empire Pass and VIP Passes for 2024-2025
Our 2024-2025 New York State Empire Pass and the Very Important Places (VIP) Passes are available to borrow. The Empire Pass provides discounted admission to participating NY State Parks.
