Spring Flower Sale – Order Through Saturday, April 25
The Friends of Mendon Public Library are once again holding their spring flower sale fundraiser. And, as convenient as always: pick up is the day before Mother’s Day! Orders can be placed and paid for online (see enclosed link) or using a printed form and pay by cash or check, made payable to “The Friends of MPL”, at the library (view or print the enclosed form.) This is a great way to support the library and enjoy sharing some spring color. >> Payment is due at the time of order. >> Deadline to order is Saturday, April 25th. >> Pick-up will be at the library on Saturday, May 9th between 9 AM and 12 PM.

Preschoolers and their Caregivers are welcome to join Miss Rosa at the Mendon Public Library on Mondays at 10 AM, to enjoy a half hour of stories and songs in English and Spanish. Miss Rosa will read from a variety of books and share her love of language, culture, and creativity. No registration required.
Financial Workshops: Different Topic Each Week
Teens and Adults: Reserve a seat at any of our four financial workshops with Financial Advisor, Robert Nestrick. Each session stands on its own, so register for one, or any combination of the four. The topics covered are: Monday, March 30: Foundations of Investing; Monday, April 13: Retirement by Design; Monday, April 20: Rules of the Road (Strategy, Risk, Diversify, Quality, Long Term, Realistic Expectations, Balance, Preparing for Unexpected, What You Can Control, Annual Review) ; and Monday, Apri 27: Creating Your Estate Document.
Tuesday Story Time
Join Miss Kelly each Tuesday morning at 10 AM for Story Time. Preschoolers and their caregivers will read a few stories, sing a few songs, and make new friends. Registration not necessary.
VolunTeens! Weekly on Tuesdays
6th – 12th Graders: Join Emily at the library on Tuesdays, from 2:30 to 4 PM, for a variety of activities to give back to the library and community! We will have a different project each week, posted in advance in the Teen Corner. Feel free to come with your own ideas as well. We can’t wait to collaborate with you! If you can, register in advance so we know how many snacks to provide!
ONLINE – Hydrangeas with Cornell Cooperative Extension
Everyone loves hydrangeas, but so many struggle with growing them. Join this online program on Tuesday, April 14th, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, to learn about varieties for shade or sun, best growing practices to ensure blooms, and an explanation of proper pruning. This program is online using Zoom; you must register to receive the link. If you have any problems, this event is hosted by the Pittsford Community Library. Sweet Bites Poetry Discussion
Poet Kathleen Wakefield has found that experiencing the reading of poetry in community opens it up in new ways for everyone, whether you’ve always loved poetry or had less than positive experiences with it! No prior experience with poetry is necessary. Sweet Bites will be held monthly on Thursdays at 10 – 11:15 AM, at Mendon Public Library. Participants are welcome to come to any or all of the sessions: Apr 16, May 21, and Jun 18. Registration is required.

LEGO Club – Monthly Challenge
Join Miss Lisa and other LEGO builders on the 3rd Monday of the month, from 4:30 – 5:30 PM, through May (Jan 19, Feb 16, Mar 16, Apr 20, and May 18.) The LEGO Club will offer a new challenge each month. Participants will receive a box of LEGOs and a prompt. Using their imagination, they can build what is suggested or build their own creation. Children ages 7-12. Registration is required.

“Wired For Opportunity” Free Technology Training
The Wired for Opportunity program is technology training classes provided at no cost to students. The classes will range from basic computer and phone skills to courses like social media and web development and will award the students with a free device, either a Chromebook or Google Pixel Tablet, depending on the class curriculum’s device focus. Each student will be provided a device to use on site for the course’s four class duration. These courses will run from mid-2025 through 2026 and be available at a variety of locations across the county. *** Please note that devices will be awarded one per person per household, while supplies last ***
