The 2026 Summer Reading Program “Unearth A Story” runs from Thursday, June 25 to Saturday, August 8 with activities, programs, raffles, and prizes for all ages.

GOAL: Read 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, throughout the summer

- On Thursday, June 25th kids can pick up their Field Log and start tracking their reading progress and program attendance. There are weekly prizes, raffle tickets, and incentives for participation.
- Also on Thursday, June 25th at 6:30 PM, join our Opening Party with Bubble Man’s Juggling and Comedy Show. (Some of the summer’s programs fill quickly, so register early to ensure a spot.)
- The Summer Reading Program ends on Saturday, August 8th and the final raffle prize will be drawn shortly after that.

KIDS (up to 12y): Starting June 25th, pick up a Field Journal and a weekly craft kit. Fill your Field Journal throughout the summer with your reading progress, any programs you attend, and your own notes and art! (Preview the Field Journal here.)

- Each week, show library staff your Field Journal with the progress made and earn a different prize for that week.
- Attend our Summer Reading programs and earn raffle tickets for prize drawings.
- At the end of the program, kids who completed their Field Journal will receive additional awards and raffle entries.
- The final raffle will be held from entries earned by kids who submitted their complete journals, and the programs they attended.

TEENS: Submit a teen book review (view sample form here) for each book read to earn an entry in the drawing for one of four $25 Visa cards

ADULTS: Submit an adult book review (view sample form here) for each book read to earn an entry in the drawing for a $50 HFMP Gift Card
