Traditional Haudenosaunee Craft: Make a Cornhusk Doll with Perry Ground

Child Programs, Teen Programs, Recent News, Family Programs, Adult Programs, Events

Kids, Teens, and Adults – Join us on Saturday, November 9th, from 1 – 2 PM, in the Mendon Public Library Jacobs Family Reading Room for a special Native American Heritage Month activity. Perry Ground (Onondaga, Turtle Clan) will begin this activity by providing some background information about cornhusk dolls, a traditional Haudenosaunee craft. Then participants will break up into groups to work together to create cornhusk dolls. All materials and supplies will be provided. The craft involves five steps and younger children may need help with knot tying.

We will set up 20 spots with the intention of creating 20 cornhusk dolls. If you are an adult and want to come and make a cornhusk doll, great! Register just yourself. If you are an adult and want to work with your little one(s) to create cornhusk dolls, perfect! — please register each of your children.

Please register one participant for each cornhusk doll you wish to make.
