The Mendon Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a new member to fill the remainder of a term which ends December 31, 2026. The required qualifications are: A sincere interest in furthering the mission of the Mendon Public Library, Residency within the Town of Mendon, A commitment to attend meetings the first Monday evening of each month, occasionally work on special projects, and complete Trustee training, Candidates who bring new perspectives and ideas to the table will help us better serve the entire community. 6th – 12th Graders: Join Emily at the library on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, from 2:30 PM to 4 PM (note time change from summer), for a variety of activities to give back to the library and community! We will have a different project each week, posted in advance in the Teen Corner. Feel free to come with your own ideas as well. We can’t wait to collaborate with you! If you can, register in advance so we know how many snacks to provide! VolunTeens are currently scheduled on these Tuesdays: Sep 9, Sep 23, Oct 14, Oct 28, Nov 11, Nov 25, and Dec 9.
Friends of MPL Red Tote Bags for Sale
The Friends of the Mendon Public Library are offering their beautiful, red tote bags for sale at the library. These bags are $15/each. They are perfect for toting library books and/or gift giving. Bags are available for purchase at the library with cash, or checks made payable to the “Friends of the Mendon Public Library”, or can be paid online, and picked up at the library by showing your purchase confirmation at the circulation desk.
Mendon Library Celebrates Nancy Holtby and The Friends of MPL!
The week of October 20 – 26 is “Friends of Libraries Week.” The Mendon Public Library joins with libraries and communities across the country in recognizing the good work of this important volunteer group. In conjunction with “Friends of Libraries Week”, the MPL Friends gathered to place a commemorative brick for Nancy Holtby, their most recent Past-President. The Mendon Public Library is a better place thanks to the support of The Friends of Mendon Public Library.
