On Wednesday, May 1st, Monroe County Library System introduces automatic renewals!
Eligible items will renew four days before their due dates. A courtesy email will be sent that lists each renewed item with its new due date. If any item is coming due, but is not eligible for renewal, the email will list that item as not renewed.

Examples of items that won’t auto-renew:
- another patron is waiting for it with a HOLD request
- it is a digital item (e-books, e-audiobooks, streaming movies, or music)
- it is not normally eligible for renewal (eg. hot spots, VIP Passes, designated ‘hot item’)
- the maximum renewals have been reached
- the fines or fees have reached the maximum allowed
- your library account has expired or is blocked
- it is from outside Monroe County, through Inter-Library Loan
