Tom has been a member of the Mendon Public Library Board of Trustees for 4 years, having joined in 2019. He is serving as the Vice President and on the Policy Committee.
Tom acknowledges his interest in being on the Board
“Having spent a lot of time in the library I wanted to see if I could donate time to help.”
Tom worked as a printer for 40 years. He was also a real estate salesman and a licensed EMT. He has been involved in politics in Lima, where he ran for Mayor and Town Board.
He currently works 20 to 30 hours at the local liquor store, and outside of work Tom enjoys spending time with his grandsons, fishing and using his metal detector.
When Tom describes his first impressions of the Mendon Public Library, he says:
“First, the beautiful building, and how nice everybody treats you!!”
as well as
“all the things that are done at the library in addition to borrowing books.”
Tom and his wife Diane have been married for 52 years, live in the Village of Honeoye Falls, and have two children: Lynn and Philip. They are also proud grandparents to four grandsons.
