The Friends of the Mendon Public Library is a 501c3 organization dedicated to enhancing our library. We are people like you who volunteer because we believe in and support this valuable community asset. Our mission is to promote literacy, encourage a love of books, and foster the use of library services. Please join us to help stimulate and promote interest in the Mendon Public Library.

You may join the Friends at any time throughout the year. Benefits of a Friends membership include knowing you contribute to a valuable community resource and receiving an invitation to attend our pre-sale events prior to our popular book sales. You are encouraged to attend our meetings. Voting rights accompany membership. We offer the following membership levels:
Student Friend (entering 6th grade and above) -- $5.00
Individual Senior Friend (65+) -- $5.00
Individual Friend (18+) -- $10.00
Family Friend -- $20.00

We have been told that our sales are among the best organized book sales in the area. Prices are low and bargains are plenty! We sell new and used books, DVDs, audio books, software, CDs, games, and puzzles at bargain prices. All items are donated by people in our community. Click here for information about donating items to our booksale.
Shop our great selection of popular, almost-new books, high-quality book bags, photo cards, and library prints. Located in the front of the library by the circulation desk, the book store is open during library hours and offers wonderful, inexpensive gifts! Gift certificates are available also. All sale proceeds benefit our library.
Why volunteer? Do you need verification of volunteer work or letters of recommendation for school or resumes? Would you like to meet friendly, dedicated, community members of all ages? We can help with that, while you share your dedication and enthusiasm for the reading and community service. We have a vibrant network of over 260 dedicated volunteers of all ages volunteering their time since we opened the new building in 2011. Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Your time, skills, and talents are needed, appreciated, and make a difference. Check out the volunteer recognition program for more information and ideas of how your talents could best be used at the Library.
