Mendon Public Library is proud to be a part of this year’s Rochester Reads event series, which features the book Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The library will offer the following events:
Haudenosaunee Storytelling Circle
Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for a Haudenosaunee Storytelling Circle presented by Ganondagan Historical Interpreters on Wednesday, October 6 at 3:15 pm.
Tour of Wild Hill Farm
People of all ages are invited to another MPL Farm Field Trip! Tour Wild Hill Farm at 2176 Elton Road in Bloomfield on October 11 at 10:30 am. Farmer Erin will show us around and we’ll hear about her practices and experiences. Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win copies of Braiding Sweetgrass. Sponsored by the Friends of MPL.
Live Stream of Ms. Kimmerer’s talk
Hear Ms. Kimmerer’s talk on October 20 at 12 noon as we live stream her Central Library presentation in our large reading room. Stick around after the viewing to share your thoughts on the book and the presentation!
