Volunteers for the Spring Book Sale

This Friends Book Sale would not be possible without our hard-working volunteers and staff. If you are interested in volunteering to work the book sale, a schedule with available time slots may be viewed and selected here. We look forward to working with you!

Donation Guidelines

We appreciate you thinking of the Mendon Public Library when you downsize your living space, move away, or simply wish to reduce your collection of books, movies, music, etc. Due to limited space at this time, we are unable to accept most donations until the spring. However, we can still accept items that are in very good to excellent condition and which have been published within the past five years. These can be brought to the circulation desk during open hours. Please do not leave donations outside of the building. Thank you for your consideration!

Beginning March 1, 2017:

To help you decide if your items should be donated to us or shared with another charitable organization, such as Goodwill (201 W. Main Street), we've provided these guidelines.

We welcome donations in good-to-excellent condition of these items:

  • Fiction/non-fiction books
  • Children's & young adult books
  • Books on CD
  • Music CDs
  • DVDs
  • Games & puzzles
  • Vinyl records

Please give the following items to another charitable organization:

  • VHS tapes and/or cassettes
  • Magazines
  • Reader's Digest Condensed books
  • Textbooks
  • Computer books over three years old
  • Damp or musty materials
